ART RESEARCH Forcade Associates' research into art and enabling technologies has always been a primary focus. By the late 1960's Tim Forcade applied aesthetics in electronic analog and digital circuit design resulting in numerous Light Machines, photographs, performances and art exhibits. Light Machines are semiconductor chaos devices Tim designed to visualize live and recorded sound. The form, texture, movement, and color which comprises each image are produced by pitch, timbre, and their interactions with a precisely designed electronic masking signal. "These images are not abstract. They are inherent in the sounds which produced them. You can hear these images" Tim Forcade
For 15 years, Tim and Forcade Associates' focus on computer graphics research, has resulted in numerous published articles, books, symposia, and CD-ROM content. For over 10 years Tim has been a regular contributing editor for professional magazines such as TrueImaging, MicroCad News, DesignNet, Computer Artist, Computer Graphics World and others.
Extensive research, necessary for articles and production projects, and continuing work as a beta site for software companies such as Autodesk / Kinetix, enables us to continuously update our expertise in software design and specification and to provide support for software developers such as Unreal Pictures, AnimaTek, and Kinetix. Our project experience in the development of 3d illustration and animation software sharpens our skills in producing effective manuals, online help, and tutorials.
