ART RESEARCH Much of the focus of Forcade Associates is research into art and enabling technologies. Beginning in the late 1960's Tim Forcade applied aesthetics to electronic analog and digital circuit design. This has resulted in numerous LightMachines, photographs, performances and exhibits. LightMachines are semiconductor chaos devices Tim designed to image live and recorded sound. The form, texture, movement, and color which manifests each resulting sonic object are produced by pitch, timbre, and their interactions with a precisely designed electronic masking signal. "These images are not abstract. They are inherent in the sounds which produced them. You may hear these images" Forcade

Our research, conducted for articles and production projects, along with our continuing work as a beta site for software companies such as Autodesk / Kinetix, has enabled us to acquire expertise in software design and specification and to provide support for software developers such as Unreal Pictures, AnimaTek, and Kinetix. This has provided us project experience in the development of 3d illustration and animation software by producing manuals & tutorials, and identifying essential program tools and functions. |
