Software development: AnimaTek's World Builder
World Builder is
a stand-alone computer graphic application for Windows 95 and Windows
NT. It enables the user to create 3 dimensional scenes consisting of
realistic looking mountains, rippling oceans, and multi-layered skies.
You can also animate various scene elements ranging from the position
of a virtual camera to the rate of growth for a field of multicolored
flowers. World Builder was designed for users ranging from architects
to game developers.

Project Scope
The project team consisted of programmers located in Moscow, RUS and
San Francisco, CA. Forcade Associates was contracted to write, illustrate,
design, and coordinate the production of a 520 page user manual and
companion on-line Help File System. We were also required to exhaustively
test the software under production conditions, document bugs, provide
feature enhancements, and specify user interface refinements.
The manual is fully
indexed with a detailed table of contents, tutorials, command reference,
and glossary of terms. We provided all manual content including the
design of tutorials, tutorial support files for CD-ROM distribution,
along with the outline and design for the manual itself. The finished
manual pages were provided in plate-ready form, suitable for printing,
trimming, and binding.
The Help File was
also designed by Forcade Associates. It provides a fully illustrated
interactive reference to World Builder’s user interface command set,
variables, and procedures. Forcade Associates was responsible for all
design, content development, programming, and testing required to produce
the Help File. The finished file was provided in digital form suitable
for inclusion with the shipping program.
